Moses and Chronic Kidney Disease

This is the rather delectable Moses! Moses was born with kidneys that hadn’t formed as well as they could have-he has renal dysplasia. Before he was a year old he had been diagnosed with kidney disease. His wonderful, dedicated owners sought us out to see what we could add in to support this lovely chap and give him the best quality of life for as long as we possibly can.

We have used:

  • herbs - these can be pretty darn impressive for supporting kidney disease. We use them to modulate blood flow depending on the type of kidney disease present, to optimise kidney health. We may use, for example, Rehmannia, bupleurum, astragalus, Angelica sinensis, cordyceps, amongst others.

  • acupuncture

  • mushrooms- cordyceps in particular can be a really nice mushroom to support patients with kidney disease. Reishi is also a good kidney support mushroom

  • Dietary modifications to support the kidney as best we can using a fresh diet

The great news is, no one seems to have told Moses that his kidneys are not quite perfect, he is living life to the full and his kidney values are currently nicely stable. His lovely GP vets are happy with him, I’m happy with him, Mum is happy with him and I think Moses is pretty darn happy with life!.
